The LiveScribe “Smart Pen”
I was just looking over my feeds when I came across this, and I thought wow. I think it’s a brilliant idea, no need to write everything down, just note down some key ideas and let it record the actual spoken dialogue. Perfect for dictation, and note taking. Ok so it’s a bit larger than your average pen, but for what it can do I’d accept that. It has an integrated infra-red camera and two noise cancelling microphones inside the pen. Now I really like this, I also think I’d like one. Prices are $149 for 1GB, or $199 for 2GB storage, that’s 100 and 200 hours of audio respectively. Plus, you need to buy a special notepad, apparently they will sell if for the same price as normal notepads, so that’s good news. Oh yeah, it can also do translations, limited to only three languages, but still, there will be more languages soon.
Now, will it make it over here? and Will it cost far too much?
